Art Journaling Workshop, 4 Weeks
Art Journaling Workshop, 4 Weeks
Join our Art Journaling Workshop for a four-week creative journey starting on Tuesday, October 3rd, 2023. This workshop is designed for teens and adults who wish to explore writing, drawing, and mixed-media art while harnessing the power of journaling. Throughout the course, participants will delve into an immersive artistic experience, discovering techniques to express their thoughts, emotions, and ideas on paper.
In each of the four classes, our experienced instructor will guide you through a series of engaging activities and exercises, providing step-by-step demonstrations and personalized feedback to inspire you and infuse your journaling practice with fresh creativity. Any written word such as poems, bible verses, favorite quotes, or any daily journaling can be used in this class, and no experience is required! By the end of the workshop, you will have developed a personal art journal filled with beautiful and expressive pages.
By bringing the recommended below supplies to each class, you will have everything necessary to fully immerse yourself in the art journaling process.
Recommended Supply List (Provided product links are for reference only)
Creative Journal: A medium-sized creative journal with blank or lightly textured pages. The size can range from 5”x7” to 8.5”x11”, depending on personal preference. We find that this journal option provides ample space for drawings, writing, and mixed media elements.
Charcoal Pencils: A set of high-quality charcoal pencils in various hardness grades (soft, medium, and hard) will allow you to achieve different tonal values and create expressive marks. Here's a great starter pack of charcoal pencils we love.
Coloring Pencils: A set of coloring pencils will provide vibrant hues for coloring and shading within your art journal. This is a set we've used which provides dynamic color options.
Markers: A selection of markers in different colors, tip sizes, and opacity levels which will add versatility to your artwork. We've had great success achieving bold lines, gradients, and vibrant color applications using these markers.
Various Pens: A range of pens, including ballpoint, fine liners, gel pens, or fountain pens. We find that these pen options help enable you to experiment with different line weights and textures, and help emphasize the details in your art journal.
Participants are welcome to bring any additional art materials they feel comfortable working with, such as pastels, collage materials, photos, stamps, stencils, or other mixed media supplies that can enhance their artistic expression.
Supplies that will be provided and available for use during each class include acrylic and watercolor paints, paint brushes, collage materials, gesso, modge podge, scissors, and glue.
